Architects and Engineers.

Monday September 21st 10am-5pm

The Hempstead, 2417 Gap View Dr. East Stroudsburg, Pa 18301

This workshop is geared towards architects and engineers in order to keep the focus on the aspects of building with hempcrete that are specific to these trades within the construction industry. Join us for a presentation from the US Hemp Building Association regional leadership team in the morning and to hear from AIA architect Anastasiya Konopitskaya, a Pennsylvania architect and founder of Coexist Build with experience designing and building with hempcrete!

Cameron from Americhanvre Cast Hemp will then be demonstrating several techniques for working with hempcrete at the Hempstead, including cast in-situ and spray applied hempcrete application via the Ereasy Spray Applied Hempcrete system. Coexist will then demonstrate their pre-cast system, Hempblock, and how it can be used for a variety of techniques. Throughout the course of the morning, there will be ample time for discussion on the finer points of detailing with the various techniques.

The day will conclude with a tour of the Hempstead farm fiber industrial hemp trial acreage for a view of the supply chain as it exists today. Come and learn about the material and the work being done to certify these techniques with the International Code Council, and how your practice can begin to incorporate this exciting new sustainable building material!
